About the Author
My name is Laker Rose. I’m a self-published author, a mother, a partner and a lifelong wanderer at heart. As a child I was lucky enough to travel to wonderful places like the Middle East, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. As I reached adulthood I couldn’t wait to fly the nest and see more of the world. For eight years I lived abroad, chasing connection, meaning and stories. I taught English to children of all ages in Southeast Asia, an experience that opened my heart and changed the way I see the world. I also lived in Australia, where I travelled the outback and had the privilege of learning from Indigenous communities. Their way of life, their stories, and their deep connection to the land left a lasting impression on me.
However it was New Zealand that truly became my soul’s home. I lived there for four years, and it was in that time that I experienced deep emotional and spiritual healing. The Māori people and their beautiful culture moved me in ways I find hard to put into words. I felt seen, grounded, and connected—not just to the people, but to the land itself. Through their teachings and the embrace of nature, I reconnected with my own spirituality. After returning home, I met my fiancé and we welcomed our son, Archer—our little bowman—into the world. He is my greatest adventure yet, and I dream of showing him the world that has given me so much.
